Cookies and browser storage
Choose whether Bedford Fencing uses optional analytics.
Your choice
Optional analytics are off until you accept them. You can reject them and continue using the guides, tools and enquiry form.
What is used?
| Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| bf_privacy cookie | Remembers acceptance or rejection, its version and date. Necessary to apply your choice; no visitor ID. | 180 days, unless you change the choice or delete it sooner. |
| bf_session cookie | Owner dashboard authentication only; not public analytics. | Up to one hour; sign-out revokes the session. |
| bf_attribution, bf_cta and bf_conversion session storage | After acceptance, records the entry page and last enquiry link in this tab. The page and link context may accompany a submitted enquiry. No project text or contact details are stored in these entries. | For the browser tab session; removed by our code when optional analytics are rejected. |
| Google Analytics _ga and _ga_* cookies | Only after acceptance on the configured live HTTPS domain. Used to measure website use. Advertising and Google Signals are disabled in our tag configuration. | Configured for up to 180 days; browser settings may shorten this. |
Google Analytics status
Google Analytics is configured for BedfordFencing.co.uk. It loads only after you accept optional analytics on the official live HTTPS domain. Admin and enquiry-form pages are excluded. Our page-view configuration strips query strings and fragments and sends no form fields or uploaded photos. For traffic-source reporting, only the referring website’s origin is sent, without its path, search terms or query string. Google Analytics is provided by Google. After you accept optional analytics, Google receives cookie identifiers, the page path and title, and technical information such as browser information and your IP address. We use this to understand website use and improve the site, on the basis of your consent. Google may process information outside the UK, including in the United States, under its data-processing terms and applicable transfer safeguards. Read how Google uses information from partner sites and Google’s processing terms and transfer provisions. User-level and event-level Analytics retention is set to two months, with no reset for new activity; this does not limit standard aggregated reports. This is separate from the proposed retention policy for enquiries.
Rejecting or changing your mind
Use Cookie settings in the footer at any time. Rejection stops our optional attribution and click collection and removes its browser storage. If Google Analytics has loaded, rejection disables the tag, clears accessible first-party Analytics cookies at the site root and reloads the page to unload it. This cannot retract information already sent to Google or remove cookies belonging to other websites.
Choice expiry or a new consent version asks you again. If cookies are blocked, optional analytics stay off. Consent applies to this browser, not all your devices.
Server records and service emails
We continue counting requested public pages in daily server aggregates without setting a visitor identifier. These are requests, not unique people. Necessary security and hosting logs are separate from optional browser analytics. Rejecting analytics does not prevent storing a project you choose to submit or sending necessary enquiry messages. Read our privacy information for those purposes, retention decisions and your rights.
